# Findings

### What is a Finding

In a security context, a finding is an observation identified by a security researcher during the analysis of a system’s codebase that is considered significant enough to report to the responsible team for review and remediation.

The term "Finding" is interchangeable with "Submission."

### Validity and Severity

Findings undergo evaluation and receive classifications as either Valid or Invalid.

Each Valid finding or submission receives a severity rating based on:

* The potential impact on the protocol
* The likelihood of the issue being triggered
