# Rescheduling and Cancellations

#### Rescheduling and cancellations

Teams often book audits before the codebase is fully ready. That is common. DualGuard aims to stay flexible, but audit time is reserved in advance and staffed accordingly.

**Rescheduling**

If you need to move an audit start date, contact DualGuard as early as possible. DualGuard will try to accommodate a new start date based on team availability and engagement scope.

If the engagement cannot begin because the project is not ready, DualGuard may treat the reserved slot as consumed capacity. This can apply when required access is missing, payment is still outstanding, the code is not frozen, or other readiness requirements are unmet. In that case, the deposit may be used to cover reserved reviewer time, and the audit can be moved once readiness is confirmed.

**Cancellations**

If you need to cancel an engagement, notify DualGuard as early as possible. Whether any deposit is refundable depends on how much reviewer time has already been allocated and committed. In general, refunds become less likely as the scheduled start date approaches.

**Practical guidance**

To avoid last-minute issues:

* book early, but plan to finalize scope and commit near the audit start
* use the Audit Requirements Checklist to verify readiness before the 3-day freeze window
* raise risks early, including delayed tests, pending migrations, major refactors, or access issues, so the plan can be adjusted
